KEWPLAY AND MUSIC BY JAKE RAISE $500 FROM CONCERT AND CD SALES

KewPlay and Music By Jake are happy to announce that together they raised $500 for Phase 2 of the Kew Gardens Playground redevelopment. The money is the result of Jake’s children concert at the Fox Theatre in November, and sales of Jake’s TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME CD at local Beach retailers.

”We could not have done this without the support of the Beach community,” comments Jake. “The Fox Theatre concert was a whole lot of fun, and I can’t thank local retailers enough for stocking and selling the CD during the busy Christmas season.”

”This is what makes the Beach such a great place to live”, said Glenn Rumbell, Chair of the Fundraising Committee for KewPlay, “People like Jake, volunteering time, money and energy to help the kids of the Beach. I can’t thank him enough.”

Over the next few months KewPlay will be working to finish the first phase of the playground – putting finishing touches on the Tree House, more benches, sand play area, etc. – , which was largely constructed last fall. After this there will be another year of fundraising and completion of Phase II, currently targeted for the fall of 2005.

Jake’s CD TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME is now available online at http://musicbyjake.com. Jake continues to do live performances, and is also offering guitar lessons and music appreciation classes for children in the Beaches area. See his website for further information.
