SINGER-SONGWRITER RELEASES “HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME”

MUSIC BY JAKE is proud to announce the release of HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME, the brand new album from BC-based children’s songwriter and performer Jake. Featuring 16 original new songs, the album is the follow-up to Jake’s 2004 Parents’ Choice Gold Award winning album, TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME.

Jake has been a full-time children’s songwriter and performer for several years, but it was with the release of TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME, that he achieved recognition as a vibrant new addition to the children’s music scene. Even before the album received the Parents’ Choice Gold award, critics and educators were enthusing about TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME’s upbeat lyrics and wide variety of rhythms. Parents were giving Jake fervent thanks for an album that could be played hundreds of time without adult fatigue. And children danced, wiggled, laughed --- and learned every single word.

Jake’s new album, HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME, takes its young listeners on a magical banana boat ride to an undersea residents’ meeting (“Coral Reef”), an icy penguin party (“Antarctic Soiree”), and one very groovy jungle (“Jungle Walk”). Also featured are festival favourites “Underpants in Hawaii” and “I Woke Up This Morning”, and several trademark Jake ballads, including “Balloons”, which gently deals with the challenge and sadness of change.

As with Jake’s first album, there are no drum machines or sequencers on the album, and Jake layers his songs with many instrumental tracks, including drums, bass, sax, trumpet, mandolin, cello, violin, ukulele. The album was recorded and mixed at Pro-Trax Studio in Thunder Bay.

Originally from Ontario, Jake has entertained thousands of children in that province with his “hilarious, lively and engaging” solo set at festivals, libraries, schools, and private events. Currently, Jake lives with his wife and two children on Pender Island, BC, where he is expanding his audience to the coastal crowd.
