JAKE’S CD ‘HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME’ NOMINATED FOR A JUNO AWARD;
MUSIC BY JAKE ENTERS AGREEMENT WITH CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT DISTRIBUTOR ‘FIRE THE IMAGINATION’

February 16, 2006 -- MUSIC BY JAKE is thrilled to announce that children’s songwriter JAKE’s CD HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME has earned a 2006 Juno Award nomination for Children’s Album of the Year. The news comes hot on the heels of an agreement with children’s entertainment distributor FIRE THE IMAGINATION to distribute this CD and JAKE’s award-winning debut TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME.

“I love that I’ve been invited to this party to celebrate Canadian children’s music – it’s the greatest children’s music in the world!” enthuses JAKE. “It’s an incredible honour to be nominated for a Juno, especially in a year when the category is full of musicians who care so deeply for the quality of the music they make for children.”

JAKE wrote all the songs on HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME, and performs on both of his albums with a collection of very talented Thunder Bay musicians. The CD is a follow-up to JAKE’s debut album TAKE A LITTLE RIDE WITH ME, which won a 2004 Parents’ Choice Gold Award as one of the Top 10 children’s CDs released in North America.

In discussing the recent distribution agreement, FIRE THE IMAGINATION co-founder Stephanie Tucker comments, "JAKE offers rich musicianship and talented songwriting in a package children will love. Parents, educators and critics rave about JAKE’s gently humourous lyrics, varied musical genres, and the use of many live instruments (there are no drum machines or sequencers on JAKE CDs). Children – well - they just laugh and dance! JAKE’s songs are included on several Casablanca Kids compilations distributed across North America, along with artists like Fred Penner, Jack Grunsky and Sharon Lois & Bram. JAKE lives with his family on Pender Island, BC.
